The Linux Systems Engineer II will be responsible for implementing, administering and monitoring the high availability production network environments. Must be able to work in our Lincolnshire, IL location. Responsibilities Responsibilties:
Deliver solutions that improve the stability and security of our Linux environment Follows Linux Operating System installation and security standards Tracks vulnerabilities and oversees the application appropriate patches and upgrades Coordinates regular scheduled upgrades and patches Writes scripts to automate multiple administrative tasks Proactively monitors and addresses issues with system performance and capacity Installs, configures, and documents new servers and applications Maintains and audits system security configuration and logs Responds rapidly to system maintenance needs, including on weekends and evenings Develops system administration operations documentation Installs software tools providing systems level monitoring Escalates technical issues when necessary to ensure closure in a timely manner Assist in maintaining the overall operational quality, service delivery and security compliance Participate in continuous Improvement initiatives aimed at improving business performance Provide on call support for critical production issues. Participate in training to grow skills to provide support independently. Assist in evaluation of new products, solutions, and technologies Liaise with other IT teams and technology vendors to develop solutions for complex issues Participates in developing disaster recovery procedures and operations Create architecture documentation and standard operating procedure documents Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage resources. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required - technical degree or equivalent experience 2
year's of experience in administering Linux systems in a complex environment Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with management, development teams and system administrators Strong understanding of end user issues Technical hands-on experience Must be a self-starter, work independently as well as in a collaborative, diverse and global technical team Ability to trouble shoot and handle multiple projects and deadlines Demonstrated knowledge of applicable IT systems /applications Capable of developing new systems and tools Experience in documenting and maintaining up to date systems procedures Demonstrated analytical skills Experience in performing in a fast-paced, high growth, rapidly changing environment Ability to identify and implement process improvements
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
System & Network Administration, Systems Architecture & EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
